Viruses are a constantly evolving threat!

From the familiar Trojan horse to Malware, Spyware, Scareware, Botnets…

Since the beginning of time, there have always been criminals who want to take what you have worked so hard to obtain.  Sometimes, despite your most vigilant outlook, they gain entry into your most personal life. 

Follow these simple steps to greatly reduce your vulnerability:

1. Always scan attachments.
   
2. Use a quality program for virus protection, one that can catch viral attachments before they are opened.  It should be self-updating with the latest viral threats.
3. Be a friend and notify a friend if they have inadvertently distributed a virus.  They may not be aware.
4. Never acknowledge e-mail that states you have won money, a prize or a gift card you did not apply for.  Don’t even open it and “click to be removed”, this only confirms that your address is viable.

Malwarebytes Anti-Malware Free utilizes Malwarebytes powerful technology to detect and remove all traces of malware including worms, trojans, rootkits, rogues, dialers, spyware and more.This is a free program I use regularly.  Think of it like a malware-destroying broom - you can use it to clean your computer, but your computer won't clean itself (just like Mom used to say).  You have to update and run manually, if you decide to buy the full version, it works like an anti-virus.  http://www.malwarebytes.org/products/malwarebytes_free
